Cabo is one of the most enjoyable trips you’ll have in Mexico – heck, maybe all of North America.
I had a blast it, and I only had two broken feet when I returned home from it. Who needs memorabilia anyhow?
Do n’t worry, you should feel worse for the lounge chairs that got in my way after one too many Mai Tais ( Ahh, the one downside to all-inclusives! ).
Before you can also place your first round of marga and sandwiches, Cabo can bring a group and drain your bank account, even though paying upfront for unlimited food and beverages seems like Heaven on Earth.
The hotel industry has struggled for a while, with sky-high weekly prices frequently climbing into the hundreds.
So much so many Cabo hardliners have begun to check out what’s beyond the town limits in search of similar beauty, less masses, and more benefits and tradition, like La Paz and Todos Santos.
According to Thrillist, there’s another untouched Baja leave to consider, especially now that it’s more attainable than ever with new strong flights.
Loreto: Baja’s Lesser Known Blissful Paradise
Contrary to Cabo’s carefully curated vacations in expensive resorts, La Paz and Todos Santos have both evolved into modern beach adventures in their own correct with upscale hotels and a blazing culture.
That being said, you do n’t have to venture all the way to the southernmost point of Baja, you can visit Loreto instead.
With strong flights from Alaska Airlines and American Airlines, this coastal town has been under the radar for far too much.
Below, you’ll find beautiful coasts, but honestly, they’re everything like Cabo’s shores because they are n’t packed with hordes of fellow guests!
Some of the places you could easily have access to by yourself or with a few other visitors are areas where the “average Joe” or” Janes” traveler might not be as familiar.
Loreto is a place you go to to relax from the stresses of life at home and prevent yourself from becoming more stressed out with Cabo’s unpleasant partners (yes, I’ve been a bad source to that ).
Now that I’m well into my 30s, Loreto is a lot more attractive. It’s the same when you compare Cabo to Loreto, going from pulling all-nighters to slowly discovering “happy time” are more your jelly.
Coronado Island Is A Must!
No matter where you are on the shore, Loreto is home to gleaming blue waters.
With the backdrop of the imposing Sierra de la Giganta hills, some incredible sights are visible in and around town.
While some locals and tourists in on Loreto’s solution may recommend a mixed case of Playa Ligui, Playa Nopolo, and Playa Danzante, it’s the fantastic Isla de Coronado that’s a must.
Boasting stunning hiking trails, spectacular views, and the type of light sand you want to drink up and bring back house, there’s no prettier area on this part of Baja.
It’s really simple to get to Coronado Island. Simply climb aboard one of the many tour guides who will take you that.
That being said, since this is n’t a popular area, it’s usually best to do a little research to make sure they’re reliable.
I highly recommend Loreto Sea and Land Tours, which have a reputable 4.9 on Google and reasonably priced accommodations for Loreto’s little-known piece of heaven.
To be honest, Thrillist supports me on this because Loreto Bay National Park, a protected area that includes several islands including Cortes, is their top recommendation for hiking, snorkeling, wildlife viewing, or just lounging in the Baja sunlight.
Travel Tip: Do n’t miss this unique attraction! Go on a day hike to see the local indigenous people’s cave drawings. Travel and lunch are provided by English-speaking instructions.
Cheap Pleasure
If you thought Cabo was the only beach place with all-inclusives, think again!
Only watch those nasty club chairs…
Guests can find the most luxurious accommodations at a fraction of the price of many of Cabo’s top hotels, like Villa Del Palmar, where they can spend their money.
After all, Loreto was Baja’s primary capital city, and it is now a pueblo magico.
