The Adventure Travel Trade Association ( ATTA ) and BehaviorSMART are pleased to announce their global strategic partnership, which will bring together ATTA’s expertise in adventure travel and BehaviorSMART’s behavior economics-based sustainability solutions for the tourism industry. The two organizations ‘ goals are to use behavioural science insights to promote desired behaviors by utilizing an understanding of how people think, decide, and work to enable the world travel industry to provide lasting travel experiences.

This agreement will grant ATTA members unrestricted access to the beSMART System, an online conservation and promotion advisory developed by B Corp certified BehaviorSMART. The first-of-its-kind platform was designed to coincide with how people psychology drives decision-making and offers businesses in the tourism industry practical steps to follow sustainable practices that create visible, beneficial impacts on the environment, society, and the economy.

As part of this partnership, ATTA members will receive a 20 % discount on the beSMART Platform subscription, giving them access to a comprehensive range of Sustainability Topics, including topics for reducing plastic waste, water consumption, carbon footprint, pressure on hotspots, respecting local norms and much more. Each issue includes practical, step-by-step assistance designed to make lasting travel both visible and reasonable, independently of a company’s size or resources. These actions have helped travel companies reduce waste by more than 30 % or increase the demand for local foods by 15 %.
