Many travelers will be looking for winter sun if they do n’t like going downhill.

Often, that means whipping out your credit cards and booking a great seaside vacation, but there’s one region of the U. S. offering three undervalued cities without beaches or skiing resorts that are still beautiful, cheap, and rich in culture.

From Arizona to West Texas, the Southwest is n’t just a barren land as depicted in old-timey western movies, there are some true treasures to explore.

So, if you’re up for an adventure and ready for new experiences, here are 3 underrated cities with cheap stays this winter – and do n’t worry, you can still enjoy a poolside margarita even without a beach in sight.

Tucson: Arizona’s Desert Darling

Going west to east, come begin with the great city of Tucson, the best Scottsdale fool, for a more traditional sense and cheaper stays.

How many exorbitant blue items had one perhaps have in Old Town Scottsdale, which is a fun place to visit?

Tucson may present similar retailers, but they’re certainly gimmicky and there’s plenty to do despite no being considered as popular.

One such spot to love is one of America’s most under-hyped National Parks. You gotta check out Saguaro National Park ($ 25 admission ) this winter for epic hikes through picturesque landscapes.

Tucson is a wonderful place to go out at any time except during the summer, but the wintertime climate here makes it even more appealing to check-out. The average temperature is in the 60s.

The best way to practice Tucson, in my opinion, is to eat your way through it, aside from Saguaro.

Do n’t believe me? What another state’s culinary scene is UNESCO’s entire recognition?

Consider a garden for a restaurant and sample the Southwest and Sonoran food when it’s beautiful. But the best may be a hole-in-the-wall dating up to the 1930’s – check out El Minuto Cafe.

You may spend more on encounters like a fun-filled day exploring Old Tucson because Tucson is a very cheap getaway that offers great stays at excellent prices.

Airbnbs are as low as$ 63, but these 3 hotels are hard to beat in December:

Hotel McCoy Tucson (vintage style! ) –$ 74

  • Reid Park DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Tucson –$ 76
  • Hilton Tucson East –$ 94

Miss Albuquerque! Visit New Mexico’s Second Biggest City

If you have ever taken a road trip on the relatively never-ending I-10 expressway, then you’ve definitely passed through Las Cruces.

You might have missed out on the small town charm and the enormous Organ Mountains, which are ideal for scenic hikes in the city’s mild winters, because they do n’t have a towering skyline to catch your eye.

Las Cruces is the second-largest city in New Mexico, but smaller, more upscale vacations like Taos and Santa Fe frequently outnumber it.

That being said, do n’t sleep on Las Cruces as a cultural destination. In Mesilla, a famous outlaw who was once tried in the famous outlaw Billy the Kid, you can also pose for photos in front of the camera in one of the city’s historic towns.

Although this city is primarily a blip, it is a great day trip destination for shopping and dining.

The best cocktails my lips have ever graced are at Twin Eagle, where I’ve had them all over Mexico! ).

For stays, they wo n’t break the bank. For only$ 86 per night or one of these three affordable hotels this spring, book a traditional adobe residence on Airbnb:

  • Hilton Garden Inn Las Cruces –$ 99 in December
  • Hacienda de Mesilla –$ 119 in January
  • Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces –$ 123 in December

El Paso: Texas ‘ Forgotten City

El Paso is a real diamonds in the rough, but if you’ve heard it in the news, it’s probably because social talking heads did it.

Probably Texas ‘ most social capital ( sad, San Antonio! ), El Paso may please you with its ancient Operations, revamped city, and ritzy West Side, which is often a shock to first-time guests.

There may be no place to go chow down in the Lone Star State, despite the modern taco joints in Dallas and Austin.

Visitors may tell you to consider Chico’s, one of the city items, but unless you like wet taquitos, decide for Elemi alternatively, which was just named next best in the state by Texas Monthly.

Consider it from me, I lived here for a year!

In response, these 2 hotels ‘ rooftop rooftops, which offered stunning views of the city and mountains, are one of my favorite spots to hang out.

  • Hotel Indigo
  • Hotel Paso del Norte

For the best deals, check out spacious houses on Airbnb in the$ 80’s or these 3 establishments this winter:

  • The Hotel at Sunland Park Racetrack &amp, Casino/West El Paso –$ 87 in December
  • Hilton Garden Inn El Paso / University –$ 99 in January
  • Courtyard El Paso Downtown/Convention Center –$ 100 in December
